Getting accepted into a graduate degree program is exciting! However the cost of it is a little…less exciting.

Thankfully:

Student loans aren’t your only option for covering tuition.

There are a vast number of scholarships and grants that can help you pay for graduate school costs. Some of these opportunities are specifically for women and, as such, only accept applications from female applicants.

To help save you some time, I’ve put together a list of graduate school scholarships for women. All the deadlines are up to date and current for 2022!

Graduate School Scholarships for Women

Ethnic Minority and Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship

  • Award: $10,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 4th

Eligibility: Open to qualified minority and female students or student-athletes at an active NCAA member institution. Must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and be at least in their final season of NCAA athletics eligibility or will not be using any remaining athletics eligibility. Must also be seeking admission or have been accepted into a sports administration or other graduate program that will assist the applicant in obtaining a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Society for Women Engineers Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000 – $10,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 15th

Eligibility: Open to those whoidentify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and computer science globally.

KnowBe4 Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship

  • Award: $10,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 20th

Eligibility: Must identify as a female pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance, or similar field. You must be an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, or graduate student in the fall of 2022. PhD students are not eligible. 3.3 GPA or higher required.

Gertrude M. Cox Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 23rd

Eligibility: Application is limited to women who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are admitted to full-time study in a graduate statistics program by July 1 of the award year. Women in or entering the early stages of graduate training (MS or PhD) are especially encouraged to apply.

(ISC)² Women’s Cybersecurity Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000 – $5,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 28th

Eligibility: Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance, or similar field; have a 3.3 GPA or higher; and be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, graduate, or post graduate student to be eligible.

(ISC)² Graduate Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000 – $5,000
  • Deadline: March 7th

Eligibility: Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a Master’s degree program or doctoral studies with a focus on cybersecurity or information assurance and have a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Erin Aaberg Givans Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: March 8th

Eligibility: Must be a female student attending a graduate institution/ program in California in the upcoming academic year; enrolled full-time; have a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be pursuing a Master’s degree in public policy, public administration, or public health with a career goal of working in the field of children’s health policy or children’s health advocacy.

Financial Women of San Francisco Scholarship

  • Award: $15,000
  • Deadline: March 22nd

Eligibility: Open to women pursuing careers in the fields of accounting, finance and/or the financial services industry. Must be enrolled at a college or university in theBay Area (CA).

Women in Defense (WID) Scholar Program

  • Award: $1,000 – $5,000
  • Deadline: March 27th

Eligibility: Must be a woman currently enrolled or expected to be enrolled in an accredited university or college by the fall of 2022 academic term; have a 3.25 GPA or higher; and demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career related to national security or defense.

Chicana Latina Foundation Scholarship Program

  • Award: $1,500
  • Deadline: March 31st

Eligibility: Applicants must self-identify as aChicana and/or Latinaand be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college in one of the followingCalifornia counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, San Francisco, Sonoma, or Yolo. Must have lived at least two (2) years in one of the above Northern California counties at the time of application. Graduate students must be enrolled as graduate/professional students completing course/thesis/dissertation or have been accepted into graduate/profession school; and a cumulative GPA of 2.7 for college coursework.

AWG Jeanne Harris Chrysalis Scholarship

  • Award: $2,000
  • Deadline: March 31st

Eligibility: The Chrysalis Scholarship provides degree-completion funding for women geoscience graduate students whose education has been significantly interrupted by life circumstances

AWG Winifred Goldring Award

  • Award: $2,000
  • Deadline: April 15th

Eligibility: Applicants must be women pursuing education as graduate students in the paleontological – and affiliated – sciences at a degree-granting institution.

National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) Scholarship Program

  • Award: $1,000 – $15,000
  • Deadline: April 15th

Eligibility: Must be amember of NBNA and currently enrolled in anursing program (B.S.N., A.D., Diploma or L.P.N./ L.V.N. Masters, and Doctoral).

CREW Network Foundation Scholarships

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: April 15th

Eligibility: Applicants must be female or identify as female; a full-time junior, senior or graduate student; have a 3.0 GPA or higher; and have a study of focus in one or more of CREW Network’s Qualified Fields of Commercial Real Estate.

EFWA Graduate Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000 – $2,000
  • Deadline: April 30th

Eligibility: Open to female US citizens attending accredited US school pursuing an accounting degree.

The Aritzia Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: May 6th

Eligibility: Open to those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or two-spirit; are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school in the United States; and study, plan to work in, or demonstrate a commitment to the fields of fashion design, retail management, mental health, or social justice advocacy.

Ida Foreman Fleisher Fund Scholarships

  • Award: $2,000 – $8,000
  • Deadline: May 15th

Eligibility: The fund provides scholarships for women, preferably Jewish, who wish to pursue a graduate degree. Eligibility is limited to women who have a hometown or attend school in the Greater Philadelphia area, including New Jersey and Delaware.

Aspire Higher Graduate Scholar Awards

  • Award: up to $10,000
  • Deadline: May 31st

Eligibility: Must have applied to, been accepted to, or are currently attending a graduate program at a Qualifying Institution in pursuit of a graduate degree; and have been diagnosed with a dermatologic condition.

WomenIn Scholarship

  • Award: $2,500
  • Deadline: May 31st

Eligibility: Applicants must identify as women intending to pursue or working as an early professional in a tech career in game development, including art, animation, programming, and engineering.

Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship

  • Award: $4,000
  • Deadline: June 10th

Eligibility: Open to those who identify as lesbian and plan to attend a college or university in the United States (including graduate school) in the fall.

NWSA Women of Color Award

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: July 1st

Eligibility: Open to women of color who are current National Women’s Studies Association members and currently enrolled in a graduate or a professional program. Recent recipients of a terminal degree (no later than May 2022) are also eligible to apply.

NWSA Graduate Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 1st

Eligibility: Open to students who, in the fall of the year of the award, will be engaged in the research or writing stages of a Master’s Thesis or Ph.D. Dissertation in the interdisciplinary field of women’s studies. This opportunity is open to current National Women’s Studies Association members.

Viaje de Esperanza Scholarship

  • Award: $12,195
  • Deadline: July 1st

Eligibility: All graduate students currently studying in El Paso, TX, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Denver, Colorado who are pursuing a degree that will lead them in the mental health service field and who identify as Latinx are eligible to apply.

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation Scholarship

  • Award: up to $5,000
  • Deadline: Aug. 1st

Eligibility: Must be a woman, at least 17 years of age; a mother with minor children; pursuing a degree at a not-for-profit, accredited institution or program in the U.S.; and be low-income.

Mary Schonfield PA School Scholarship

  • Award: $3,500
  • Deadline: Aug. 17th

Eligibility: Open to female students who are at least 27 years old and are currently studying/accepted to a Physician Assistant program.

Show your Mettle – Women in STEM Scholarship

  • Award: $1,500
  • Deadline: Sept. 1st

Eligibility: Any female student pursuing IT or STEM may apply for this exclusive scholarship opportunity.

Texas Women Empowerment Scholarship

  • Award: $2,000
  • Deadline: Oct. 1st

Eligibility: High school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate women students from Texas are eligible to apply for this scholarship if they are going into fields such as pre-law, political science, public health, medicine, and other related fields. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to apply.

Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: Oct. 31st

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students are women who intend to enter a technical or non-technical career that leverages technology to make the world a better place.

John Alfred Smythe Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $10,000
  • Deadline: Nov. 1st

Eligibility: Any undergraduate or graduate student studying material science engineering may apply for this scholarship.

WIIT Student Scholarships

  • Award: $1,500
  • Deadline: Nov. 1st + April 1st

Eligibility: Applicants must identify as female and be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. university or college, either full-time or part-time. Applicants must be Juniors or Seniors in undergraduate or enrolled in graduate studies. The scholarships are meant to support and encourage women to study International Trade and Global Development.

AAUW Career Development Grants

  • Award: $2,000 – $12,000
  • Deadline: Nov. 15th

Eligibility: Applicants must be women who hold an earned (not honorary) bachelor’s degree received on or before June 30, 2014, and do not hold an earned (not honorary) graduate or professional degree. Must plan to enroll or are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in one of the following fields of study: education, health, and medical sciences, or social sciences.

AAUW International Fellowships

  • Award: $18,000 – $30,000
  • Deadline: Nov. 15th

Eligibility: The program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career.

P.E.O. Scholar Awards

  • Award: $20,000
  • Deadline: Nov. 20th

Eligibility: A woman is eligible for nomination by aP.E.O. local chapterif she: is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada; at a minimum, has a bachelor’s degree; is within two years of her graduation date andhas at least one full academic year of work remaining to complete her doctoral-level degree.

Those in a multiple-degree program (e.g., pursuing both an M.D. and a Ph.D.) must be within two years of completing the entire program from that date.

AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships

  • Award: $5,000 – $18,000
  • Deadline: Dec. 1st

Eligibility: Open to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited U.S. institutions during the fellowship year in one of the designated degree programs where women’s participation traditionally has been low. Including the following master’s programs: architecture, computer science, engineering, and mathematics/statistics.

Fellowships in the following degree programs are restricted to women of color who have been underrepresented in these fields: master’s in business administration, law, and doctorate in medicine.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program

  • Award: up to $42,000
  • Deadline: Dec. 14th

Eligibility: Open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are pursuing or intend to pursue a masters or doctoral-level degree in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology—this can include, but is not limited to, ocean and/or coastal: engineering, social science, marine education, marine stewardship, and resource management disciplines. 3.3 GPA or higher.

AWWA Jacobs Holly A. Cornell Scholarship

  • Award: $10,000
  • Deadline: Dec. 20th

Eligibility: Open to AWWA members who are female and/or minority students pursuing advanced training as a graduate student in the field of water supply and treatment.

Kerri Castellini Women’s Leadership Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: Dec. 31st

Eligibility: Applicants must be female or identify as female and pursuing post-secondary education with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Qualifying degrees include associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, graduate degrees, business school degrees, medical degrees, or law degrees offered by accredited U.S. institutions.

Niche’s $5,000 Graduate Student Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: Dec. 31st

Eligibility: Open to current graduate students and students planning to enroll in graduate school. Must be a legal residents of the United States.
